Icon, Moooi, 2006
If someone tell you the word lamp then "Icon" is what you will think of. A pictogram for explaining light that was made possible to realize when discovering a sample of a velvet like flocked cable. The aim was to create something so reduced that it almost became unreal, going from three- to two dimensional and becoming a picture of a lamp rather than an actual one.
The conic archetypical shape as well as the cable are treated with the tactile soft flock coating and just like velvet the surface then reflects no light fråm the outside resulting in a disapearing shape that gives the impression of a dark hole cut out in the air.
Size: Ø400 and Ø600 mm.
